Tests confirm that the construction is highly resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations

2-layer oak with Ecoboard base flooring >>  pass the impressive peel test, proving their strength and durability:

• Floorboards were immersed in 20°C water for six hours before being removed.
• It was then stored in a climate chamber at 23°C and 50% relative humidity for 24 hours and 48 hours.
• Then it was dried at 60 °C for 8 hours.
• Finally, the product was dried for 16 hours at 80 °C.
• No evidence of delamination was found after the tests: neither between the Ecoboard and the oak layer (interlayer) nor in other parts of the floorboard structure. Despite extreme tests, the construction remained unchanged. The achievement was recognized with a quality certificate.

Because such extreme conditions do not occur in real life, we confidently state that this 2-layer flooring will last a lifetime.

Sustainable, eco-friendly floorboards ideal for underfloor heating

The engineered oak on Ecoboard is perfect for underfloor heating. Due to its moisture resistance, wooden floors can be laid confidently in the kitchen, bathroom, and other rooms where tiles were traditionally installed.

 Testing shows that oak and Ecoboard flooring has a thermal resistance of 0.13 W/m*K. As a result, such a floor provides unparalleled comfort when installed with an underfloor heating system.

We always remind our customers to ask what materials are used to make the floorboards. In the process of making the attachments to the base layer of the oak, Ecowood uses formaldehyde-free polyurethane glue to attach the top layer of oak to the base layer. A similar safe glue is used in the production of the Ecoboard base.

Formaldehyde emissions were also studied in a German laboratory. The result: 2-layer oak and Ecoboard construction meets the highest European E1 class standard. Formaldehyde emission was below the limit of detection (Limit Of Detection).

 Identifying the glue used for floorboard construction is important because harmful glues can evaporate while heating, putting your health at risk.
